"Steve offers the listener a world tour of guitar styles, from sambas to jazz, blues to classical, bebop to folk and almost everything in between.... Recommended to lovers of guitar and soft jazz."--Rev. Robert Walmsley
"Of all the CDs that have been presented to me over the years, by local and national cats, "Life Imitates Art" is by far at the top of the heap. The ten tunes exhibit strong percussive guitar licks, with a warm tone, yet with plenty of tension.... Steve Glotzer has managed to achieve an extraordinary blend in the musicians that he has surrounded himself with. If you don't find this CD in your record store, ask for it. You will find yourself listening to it over and over again. -- Michelle Mobley, Sugardaddy Jazz Newsletter
"[A] must have album for music afficienados of surreal bebop, breezy sambas, conga driven wanderlust and sophisticated urban blues." -- 'Postman' Roger Gilles, KGNU Radio

Steve Glotzer
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Steve Glotzer moved to Colorado over 20 years ago and has become a regular at local festivals, college campuses, and other small venues. He began developing his style with his first band, "Borrowed Time." "Our sound had a very Allman Brothers feel. We opened for Blues Traveler before they were huge," Steve says. "Borrowed Time" also opened for Delbert McClinton, Blues Traveler, Dr. John, Commander Cody and Mitch Ryder from the Detroit Wheels. Later Glotzer and Jimmy Sferes formed the jazz/folk/blues duet "Acoustic Food Chain," which opened for acts like Larry Coryell and Richard Elliot. "We toured the country with the release of our self-titled CD (released 1996)," Steve explains. They appeared Boulder Blues Festival, Octoberfest in Kansas, the Tucson Folk Festival and many others.
Steve has performed at folk, blues, and jazz festivals across the country and has performed on the same bill with such diverse artists as David Grisman, Son Seals, David Wilcox, Sonia Dada, Roger McGuinn, John Cowen, and Richard Elliott. Steve has three solo albums out: “Life Imitates Art,” "Accoustic Christmas," and "Lately." Visit Steve's website: www.steveglotzer.com |
