The Writer’s Pocket Tax Guide is a simple guide to the
federal tax rules applicable to the income and expenses
of those who write for a living. It
includes a line-by-line review of Schedule C and Form
8829 with explanations and examples on how to apply
the rules for income, business expenses, depreciation,
auto expenses, home office deductions, and much more.
Darlene Cypser has been writing the Writer’s Pocket Tax
Guide for freelance writers since 1988. The Guide has been highly praised
by writers across the country. This year the WPTG has been expanded to cover
how people who writer as employees can report their employee business expenses.
The Writer’s Pocket Tax Guide began as a “pocket-size”
paperback book. This version includes a CD with a
digital version of the Guide plus useful IRS publications,
forms, and instructions.
CD Requirements: PC or Macintosh with a CD-ROM
drive and a web browser (e.g. Firefox, Safari, or
Internet Explorer). Adobe Acrobat Reader is required
to read the tax forms and IRS publications which are
included as pdf files.
