A brooding mix of goth, industrial and metal from goth-infused rock to chaos to quiet reflection....
All built around epics of loss and tragedy.
"A myriad of sounds, produced by guitar, keyboards and drums, weave their way around (and sometimes over) the lead vocals, which themselves are dark and husky.... Buy it if you’re into moody background music." -- Keith Elcombe, Hard Wired
"This album is a healthy blend of melodic metal, hard guitar gothic rock, and industrial elements. I usually don’t listen to something so heavy-hitting musically, (and this album is definitely not for the meek) but I am really drawn to their cover of Scarborough Fair." -- Mistress McCutchan, Morbid Outlook
"Caustic Soul's style is unique in this genre as it tends to be a borderline combination of melodic, slow droning,
metal, and goth rock. Their music is that of a dark, and dreary, sample exemplified nature.... The male vocals are deep, and
are the key element in keeping the mood in each track." -- DJ Mistress Cathrinna

Caustic Soul is well-known in the Denver goth scene and will be attracting a national audience in the very near future. If Iron Maiden or Pink Floyd sell well in your store, you do not want to miss this one. |

Caustic Soul
Hailing from Denver, Colorado, CAUSTIC SOUL is a powerful hybrid of sinister industrial, shrieking metal, and melancholy gothic. Without a doubt, the most dynamic force the band has to offer, however, is the live performance. The pain behind every crunch, melody, and lyric is so clearly apparent that entire crowds have wept, screamed, and danced in the atmosphere of remorse this group brings with them. Be it a wailing guitar solo, or a full orchestra, members Mike "Shade", Dave, and Judas pour every ounce of their being into connecting with both crowd and music. Despite their heartfelt vocals and reverberating sorrow, Caustic Soul can keep the crowd moving on an emotional rollercoaster for the entire duration of the show. Laughing one minute, crying the next, the power of the presentation is unforgettable. As a band, these three "good ol' boys" of goth are as diverse and flexible as their music. "Together we touch the living, and the dead dance in their graves...."
Mike "Shade" Atchley-- vocals, guitar, layout, drums and teflon --
Former resident of Casper, Wyoming. Mike is still adjusting to large groups of people, and is known for being a space cadet.
Musical influences include: Iron Maiden, Peter Murphy, KMFDM, Einsterzede Neubauten, Chris Isaac, Fields of the Nephilim,
Clan of Xymox, Depeche Mode, Type O Negative and Pink Floyd. His dark flavor is also highly inspired by literature: "I always escaped into books when I was young and I have to credit the authors for inspiring my lyrics," Mike shrugs, "It surely couldn't have come from anyone else, just those friends I made through their writing: Poppy Z.brite, Lovecraft, and Milton..."
Judas-- keys, percussion, samples, and stigmata -- 'Judas' is an advocate of passion and self-exploration. His music reflects the numerous journeys through his own process of ripping himself apart again and again to reveal new layers of humanity.
Dave-- bass, percussion, samples, and snirt -- Visit Caustic Soul's website: www.causticsoul.com |
