Quincey "Quik" Booker was once the biggest pimp in the city. One day Quik was chastising one of his girls when he accidently killed her.
Quik found himself hit with a manslaughter conviction that sent him to prison for 15 years. Four years later Quik is out on parole. He did not
like doing time and he has big plans for the future. He's going to stay off the streets and become a music producer. The only hustling he's
going to do is for hit sounds. He's going to be a Hitt-maker.
Quik's old partner, "Cash" has big plans of his own to get Quik back in the business and is
shocked when Quik turns him down. But it is Quik's turn to be shocked
when Cash tells him that his girl, Monae, who was the love of his life, is cheating on him and has
spent all the money he left behind. Broke and unemployed, Quik scrapes along building his dream until a man cheated
by one of his former girls threatens to kill Quik and his mother if he does not
come up with $75,000 right away. Feeling cornered Quik makes a decision that he will regret the rest of his life.
The music plays an integral role in this movie, almost resulting in feature length music video.
"[A] heartfelt attempt at capturing a specific moment in time during a desperate man's life....As the story unfolds it becomes
clear that the director...knows each and every character personally. He pulls from his own life to tell a story about the struggles he's seen and
and dealt with....The film is deeply personal and deeply moving" -- B-Independent.com
